UNIT was formed in September 2007 with the aim of bringing together like-minded people to form a highly creative and ambitious design led practice capable of bringing new ideas and value to projects across a range of sectors and scales. Through the collective experience of the team who have joined UNIT, we have gained a growing reputation that has already attracted commissions from some of the UK's foremost clients.

This experience has allowed us to set up a highly organized
practice built on strong foundations that has grown from two to twenty five people in the four years we have been in practice and which will continue to allow us to grow as and when the right opportunities arise

UNIT combines flair and creativity with deliverability; tailoring individual solutions to each project's requirements and budget to provide a high quality bespoke design service. We are currently working on residential, commercial and mixed use projects across a range of scales from master planning to a private one-off house commission.

UNIT's name reflects the practice's belief in the importance of both the team and the individual. People who join UNIT share a common goal to create considered and responsive architectural solutions that are explored through both collective and individual thought. UNIT is a practice that allows anyone with determination, ability and craft to contribute to the practice's direction and represent the practice at the highest level.

We see every new commission as an opportunity. Our architectural approach is characterised by maximizing the opportunities that lie within a project's brief; context; budget and legacy. These opportunities are tested through a rigorous design process involving collaboration, research, analysis and discussion to ensure that we achieve the optimum solution. Design review pollinates the practice's approach, ensuring learning, consistency and quality and an architectural language that evolves with every project.
