About McGregor Bowes

1 (Edinburgh)

Any to £1m

McGregor Bowes is a new architecture studio and project safety office, committed to design excellence and considered, proportionate construction safety advice.

Operating from Edinburgh, McGregor Bowes provides architectural services to clients throughout Edinburgh and surrounding districts. The firm was established in 2010 by the principal, Chris Bowes, who has over 20 years of experience working in architectural practice, in firms based in Edinburgh, Glasgow, London and Hong Kong.

During this time he has worked in most sectors and has extensive experience of a wide range of projects, refurbishment and new build, including residential, schools, healthcare, commercial and further education.

Although he has a broad range of experience, Chris has particular expertise and interest in the care, restoration and sympathetic adaptation of historic buildings. Chris has worked on some of Scotland's most significant landmarks, such as; St Giles' Cathedral, Edinburgh Castle and Fort George.

Immediately prior to starting McGregor Bowes, Chris worked with Campbell and Arnott, during which time he was promoted to the position of associate in 2003. During his ten years there he expanded his knowledge of traditional materials and techniques and was responsible for a range of high profile and award winning projects.

The practice provides a professional service, which is responsive to clients' requirements. All architectural services are provided including Feasibility, Planning applications, Building Warrant application drawings, Tender documentation and contract administration. Any or all of these services can be provided at an appropriate level to suit the client's requirements.
