New Build

This proposal is for a new neighbourhood within a regeneration area close to Hanley City Centre in Stoke-on-Trent. The design was developed for the Europan 9 competition but was not submitted.

With the decline of the pottery industry and the demolition of its bottle kilns and factories, Stoke has lost both the industry, and the urban landscape, that have always been central to its identity. This project is part of a larger regeneration initiative that aims to reverse Stoke's declining fortunes and inject new life into its former industrial heartland.

Our project sets out to provide a new model for a sustainable urban neighbourhood, that takes advantage of the area's waterside location and provides a new focus for Stoke's growing creative and knowledge-based economies. The proposals provide opportunities for new business, creative and leisure activities as well as providing a core of innovative urban housing.
